Seize the Day...
The Entrepreneurs' Club of the University of Ottawa is a not-for-profit
student-run organization. Our team devotes their time in organizing business
events, seminars, and social gatherings all within the scope of embodying the
entrepreneurial spirit. The Club connects the Ottawa business community with
University of Ottawa's business students.
Our organization's slogan is "Carpe Diem", which in Latin means,
"Seize the day". To further explain this, people should be willing to
take reasonable risks and learn from their successes and their mistakes,
without ever giving up.
2009/2010 Lookout:
As the 2009/2010 school year is quickly approaching, the Entrepreneurs' Club executive is already hard at work to bring you the top quality events that we deliver year after year.
Our past success could not have been possible without the contributions from our sponsors. Last year's success was attributed to the following sponsors and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them.
Gold: CGA, CMA, Enterprice, Edward Jones
Silver: University of Ottawa Alumni Association, KPMG, PriceWaterhouseCoopers
Bronze: Scotia McLeod, Deloitte, Country Grocer, TD Waterhouse, Interis, Desjardins
New Member Benefits
With the new executive team already in place, we have instituted new benefits for our members to gain from. These benefits will make your membership to one of the Telfer School of Management's clubs unique. Members will benefit from discounts to each of our events while enjoying the additional benefits that the Entrepreneurs' Club has to offer. These benefits include:
- Consultations providing information for students wishing to start up their own businesses;
- Members representative, who will hold meetings with all the members during the year to ensure the events are up to par with members' expectations;
- Membership cards, which will give you a tangible way to let us know you are a member when purchasing tickets, booking a start-up consultation, or attending member meetings; and
- A top secret incentive, which will be revealed to you on member sign-up day during 101 week in September 2009 (it's fantastic and will give you an advantage by being a member of the Entrepreneurs' Club over other clubs)
For those of you who were members last year, don't forget to drop by the Entrepreneurs' Club office to renew your membership and enjoy the new benefits we are offering this year!
For those of you who have yet to become members, I strongly advise you to benefit from the experience you obtain by getting involved during your academic career. Your attendance at the Entrepreneurs' Club events gives you the abilities you require to stand out in the workforce. You will develop your communication skills with professionals and students while learning about your field of work. In addition, you will benefit from the contacts you meet. All of these advantages are aside from the benefits you will receive as a member of the Club.
As the President of the Entrepreneurs' Club, I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the school year and I hope that you will take advantage of the opportunities that you are presented with!
Thank you to everyone for their support of the Entrepreneurs' Club. |
